Program Description: Moms & Babies Weekly Drop-In Group
This is a weekly, drop-in group for mothers and their babies, offering a warm, low-pressure space to support emotional wellbeing during the postpartum period and early parenthood. There is no commitment, and no need to attend every week. Moms can come when they’re able, and babies are welcome to feed, sleep, fuss, crawl, or play throughout.
Purpose
Early motherhood can be isolating, overwhelming, and emotionally demanding. This group supports the mental health of moms and the relationship between moms and babies by combining practical skill-building, connection with other parents, and space to ask questions without judgment. A parent’s wellbeing and a baby’s development are closely linked, so the group addresses both.
Each session is 1 hour & follows a predictable rhythm so newcomers can join easily:
Welcome and arrival: Informal settling in, introductions, and a brief check-in on how everyone is doing.
Grounding or mindfulness practice: A short, baby-friendly exercise such as breath work, a body scan, the 5-4-3-2-1 senses technique, or mindful touch and soothing with baby. Practices can be done while feeding, rocking, or holding a baby.
Weekly topic: A short, interactive teaching on a theme, with room for discussion.
Open Q&A and peer sharing: Moms can ask questions, share experiences, and learn from one another, with the facilitator offering information and normalizing common struggles.
Closing: A brief reflection, a take-home skill or reminder, and information about community resources.

Approach
Moms Mental Health Meet up is an informal weekly group facilitated by a licensed mental health professional supporting the mental health of moms, babies, and the relationship between moms and babies. Using a trauma-informed, strengths-based and non-judgmental approach each session will combine practical skill-building, connection with other parents, and space to ask questions without judgment. Facilitators encourage questions, respect different parenting choices and cultural backgrounds, and can connect moms with additional mental health or community services when needed.
